VERDICT.

This is a part of my blog I have dedicated to those random happenings for me on a day to day basis. This could be anything from me witnessing a funny sneeze, to seeing a two headed dog! I will always put my VERDICT at the end....

The other day I was on the train. Someone else was on the train. They were on the phone talking really loudly, you know that really high pitched voice that you just can't seem to block out no matter what? As if this wasn't bad enough. they were sitting a fair way away from me and I could smell their breath! It was absolutely rotten, I felt like I was stuck in some sort of sewage. VERDICT: I really do not think that you should be able to smell someone talking on the other side of the carraige.

The day after this I was again on my way home from work when I saw a very fat man running. He just missed the train that I was on, so proceeded to try and catch the one that was opposite, but this time, the man was determined not to be defeated. As the doors began to close on him, he, by some sort of superhero magic, transformed into hulk and forced the doors back open. VERDICT: Never underestimate a fat mans strength.

I LOVE EMINEM

I actually do, and have done for many years. Since I was seven years old to be exact. I never understood why I used to love him, but as I got older, I realised that he was a massive part of my life. He is so talented and I respect what he does so much. He more or less single handedly changed the face of hip hop. He is amazing! I love you Eminem! Your album Recovery is really growing on me!

TOY STORY 3 !!!

The wait is nearly over! I am so excited! I have waited so many years for the third instalment of Toy Story. I think what made the wait all the worst was the fact that I couldn't even get Toy Story 1 and 2 on dvd until just a few weeks ago. This hurt me deeply, living without the films in my collection, but now I have got them, I feel as happy as this cat...

...and that cat does look pretty darn impressed with itself. So all I can do is wait for Toy Story 3, which is released at the end of July. Be sure to read my review which I will put up on here.

How I Got My Media Break By Dan Frost.

Dan Frost is the Editor of Pulse, which is a Supplement within The South London Press.

'I don't think I would call what happened to me a media break, I actually went down the usual route and got a job on my local paper and managed to work my way up that way.

Before getting into media I did an NCTJ course which is the National Council For the Training of Journalists which helped me and gave me a lot of insight into the world of journalism. After I did the course I got a place on a local newspaper and a job came up fairly soon after I was there, which was really lucky in a way, but because I had been doing work experience there for a while they offered me the job. I did have a degree before working in media, however it wasn't a degree in media.

Originally I didn't want to work for South London Press but I was always aware of it being a very good and well respected paper, so this made it one of the London papers that I aspired to work for after doing my training at the local paper.

As a staffer I have not worked for any other newspapers, but I have had connections with The Mercury. I have worked at South London Press for 3 years and it has been very challenging, but then again to me, all journalism is challenging, but I really enjoy my job and the work that I do.

Thinking about getting into journalism I really hope that there isn't anybody that I have screwed over, because I definitely have not intended to do that. People in the office are laughing at me now. I don't think I have had to screw anybody over, if you asked me again later I may give you a different answer but thinking about it on the spot I don't think I have.

The main roles in my job are compiling a weekly arts and entertainment supplement for the whole of South London and that will go out to the area. That is it really in a nutshell, without going into too much detail.

If I wasn't working here I would like to think that The Guardian and South London Press are quite comfortable bed fellows, and would not be too much of a jump for me to become editor of G2. Clearly I am being sarcastic, but I really like my job.

In terms of work experience we get hundreds and hundreds of emails everyday from people hoping to get a place with us, but we just don't have the time and space to accommodate everyone, but if you really did want to try then drop me a line and I will try to sort something out for you over the summer'.

OLD BLOG.

CHECK OUT MY OLD BLOG http://hermiones.tumblr.com/

30 Seconds in the mind of Miss Bay.

It is week six of the Catch22 experience and I have done an interview with the lovely Tanya Bay. She was kind enough to answer 5 questions for me, so here it is...

When are you happiest?

Schnuggling with my boyfriend.

What is your biggest fear?

Becoming a waste gash and not achieving what I want to out of life. Basically not living life to the fullest.

What is your biggest regret?

Taking so long to finally work out what it is I want to do in life, and that is be the greatest Journo of my time.

What is your favourite smell?

It changes all the time, but at the moment I'm loving Lola by Marc Jacobs, but usually the smell of good food is always arousing.

Who would play you in a film of your life?

Michele Rodriguez because she is buff and toned.....not like myself and I don't want to be accurately repped, coz that would just be boring. She doesn't have to look like me, just act like me and she's definitely got my attitude. GRAB LIFE BY THE BALLS.

Favourite Website: www.tokyoplastic.com

Favourite song: Beres Hammond Can You Play Some More, gets me in the mood for anything.

Favourite Youtube video: Balls out jeans by MadTV

So now you know a little bit about Tanya. Follow her on Twitter

Sweet Beginnings.

As the saying goes, time flies when you're having fun. That is exactly right to describe my experience so far at Catch22. Each day I have been in I feel I have learned something valuable and new.

Unlike most work experiences I have done in the past, I actually feel valued and part of a team, rather than just someone who goes out to get a chocolate bar for a pregnant executive. The question I begged to ask was, if I wasn't there, who actually would have got it? The person who wanted the chocolate bar I suppose. In other words, being at Catch22 I feel like a person rather than that girl we can take the piss with.

When I think of this video it makes me happy. Catch22 makes me happy.

I love cats. That's all. I also love purple but lets not get into that. In fact lets as purple makes me happy too.

On the Catch22 website (www.catch22mag.com) many of the pages are valuable, but I particularly like the one that tells you about what people have gained from the course. This can be found at: http://www.catch22mag.com/academy/case-studies.

Being at Catch22 is like taking a lovely warm bubble bath. Its great but the sad fact is, it has to end at some point, only to most definitely lead onto bigger and better things.
